Below is a side by side, using straight out of camera JPG's using the in-camera black and white preset, with the exact same settings (ISO 200 - f/1.2 - 1/2000sec) with the image from the original 56mm being adjusted -1 stop in LR5 to keep the exposure consistent. The Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R shows a very similar resolution characteristic to its in house cousin - the Fujinon XF 23mm f/1.4 R. At f/1.2 it is capable of delivering a very good center performance combined with good albeit not stellar borders/corners. Stopping down improves the quality slowly but steadily till reaching a peak quality around f/5.6. Image credit: Joshua Waller You also benefit from the same subject detection as the X-H2S, with detection of animals, birds, automobiles, motorcycles (and bikes), airplanes, and trains, as well as face and eye detection for humans, animals, and birds. One of which was the Fujinon 60mm f/2.4 R Macro XF. That’s a mouthful (as all their lenses are). It was the first tele lens for the X-mount, and though it’s not new, continues to generate some buzz. ( Other than images featuring the reviewed lens, all photos taken with it on an X-E2 – mostly at 2.8, few at 2.4) The XF 56mm F/1.2 feels better than either the XF 14mm F/2.8 or xf23, and better than any other lens Fuji released before it. The hood is plastic, and reverses better than any other Fuji hood I’ve seen to date. With it flipped, the camera, lens combo is barely any different in size than without the hood at all. This Fuji 50/2 is all-purpose, weather-resistant, fast short telephoto for their APS-C X-mount cameras, equivalent to a 75mm lens on a 35mm or full-frame camera. It's almost all metal with engraved markings and made-in-Japan, just like a real lens. This isn't a plastic dog plop from China. 0ChLf.
